Sensory Processing Disorder Literature List

***

Some of the Triple X girls have sensory integration deficits and have emotional melt-downs when over-loaded.
The girls manage stress differently than their age-mates, they can have an emotional reaction to sensory stimulation.
See www.sinetwork.org for further understanding of sensory integration disorder.
Occupational therapy and occupational therapists with certification in sensory training can further evaluate for sensory deficits and recommend strategies for your daughter.

There are a couple of fantastic books that you can read to help you, your daughter and the rest of the family.....

Here they are:
1.The Out-of-Sync Child: Recognizing and Coping with Sensory Processing Disorder, Revised Edition (Paperback) by Carol Stock Kranowitz, Lucy Jane Miller.
2. Raising a Sensory Smart Child: The Definitive Handbook for Helping Your Child with Sensory Integration Issues (Paperback) by Lindsey Biel (Author), Nancy Peske (Author)
3. Starting Sensory Integration Therapy: Fun Activities That Won't Destroy Your Home (Paperback) by Bonnie Arnwine (Author)
4. Parenting a Child with Sensory Processing Disorder: A Family Guide to Understanding & Supporting Your Sensory-Sensitive Child (Paperback)
by Christopher R. Auer (Author), Susan L. Blumberg (Author)

These books are available on www.amazon.com

If you get one or two of these books, it might help you and your family to manage the behaviors by changing the environment.
